Kylian Mbappe to Join Real Madrid This Week After Leaving PSG

Kylian Mbappe is set to be announced as a new Real Madrid player this week, following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as a free agent. Reports indicate that the 25-year-old forward will receive a signing-on bonus of over £85 million (€100 million).

Real Madrid will disburse the signing-on bonus in installments over the duration of Mbappe’s contract. The French star is expected to sign a five-year deal with the LaLiga club, earning £12.8 million (€15 million) annually after tax.

Mbappe declined to activate a one-year extension with PSG, six years after the Ligue 1 club signed him for £166 million. Despite the lucrative terms of his PSG contract, including a gross annual salary of €75 million (£63.9 million) and a €30 million (£25.6 million) signing-on bonus, Mbappe has agreed to a pay cut to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The transfer marks a significant move in Mbappe’s career as he joins one of the most storied clubs in football history.
