Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi Addresses INEC Server Failure

Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has provided insights into the reasons behind the failure of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) servers during the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking at an event in Canada over the weekend, Obi attributed the malfunction of the INEC servers to what he described as the “establishment of criminality” within the system during the last general elections.

Obi emphasized the importance of engaging stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the electoral system despite the challenges encountered.

The former governor of Anambra State cited testimony from Amazon, which reportedly indicated no global glitches on the day of the presidential election. He asserted that the failure of the servers was a deliberate act orchestrated by those benefiting from the old order.

Highlighting the complexity of effecting change, Obi drew parallels with historical struggles for change in other countries, emphasizing the gradual nature of transformative processes.

He reassured supporters of ongoing efforts to address electoral irregularities without specifying them, underscoring the inherent difficulties in effecting change.

Obi affirmed the need to persist in advocating for a functional INEC server system, emphasizing the absence of reported glitches on the day of the election according to Amazon’s testimony.

While acknowledging the challenges ahead, Obi urged continued efforts to rectify systemic issues and ensure the functionality of the electoral process.
