Lagos State Government Inaugurates New School, Affirms Commitment to Education

The Lagos State Government reiterated its dedication to investing in the future of children during the inauguration of the Akinsanya Ajaloleru Nursery and Primary School at Oke Afa, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area. Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat emphasized the state’s commitment to providing essential educational infrastructure to shape the destiny of Nigeria’s future leaders.

Dr. Hamzat highlighted that the inauguration aligns with the THEMES PLUS agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration. He noted that the facility was built in response to the demand from the Ilamoshe community in Ejigbo for a public primary school, thereby easing the stress of long-distance trekking for children in the area.

Moreover, the new school aims to ensure the safety and well-being of children by shielding them from the risks of traffic accidents associated with crossing busy roads. Dr. Hamzat urged the community to take ownership of the newly constructed edifice and ensure its safety for the children.

Commending the LCDA Chairman, Mr. Monsurudeen Bello, for his innovation, Dr. Hamzat encouraged him to continue his initiatives for the betterment of the Ejigbo community.

In his remarks, Lagos State House of Assembly member Mr. Oladipo Ajomale urged the LCDA chairman to implement more projects, including the construction of inner roads, to enhance the living standards of the people of Ejigbo LCDA. He commended the chairman for delivering a remarkable school facility and encouraged him to pursue initiatives that would uplift the community.

Earlier, LCDA Chairman Mr. Monsurudeen Bello explained that the school aimed to revolutionize the education landscape in the community by providing an alternative to costly private schools. He emphasized that the school would alleviate the financial burden on residents and make quality education more accessible.

With the deployment of experienced teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board, the school has already enrolled over 350 students in its first three months of operation. Bello highlighted that the school’s strategic location is expected to enhance socio-economic activity within the surrounding community.
