Leicester City have confirmed the departure of Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho after seven years with the club. Iheanacho’s contract is set to expire at the end of this month.
The 27-year-old Nigerian striker joined Leicester City from Manchester City in 2017. During his time with the Foxes, he scored 61 goals, including the decisive winner against his former club in the FA Community Shield final at Wembley in August 2021.
In a related development, Leicester City announced they are in negotiations with Iheanacho’s compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi, regarding a new contract. Ndidi’s current contract also expires at the end of this month.
