Lionel Messi Expresses Desire to Return to Barcelona and Praises Hansi Flick’s Impact on the Team

Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has once again expressed his longing to return to the city and praised the work of the current coach, Hansi Flick, as the club prepares for its 125th anniversary celebrations.

In a documentary titled *3cat*, Messi shared his reflections on his deep connection to Barcelona, a city and club that shaped his career. Despite leaving in 2021 due to financial challenges and the club’s inability to renew his contract, Messi revealed that he and his family continue to feel a strong bond with the Catalan capital. “My children are Catalan, and I have lived there all my life. I feel like I belong to Barcelona,” Messi stated, adding, “We are always going to live there again in the future. My children, my wife, and I miss life in Barcelona, we left a lot of things there.”

Catalunya Radio recently reported that Messi is expected to attend Barcelona’s anniversary gala as a special guest, further cementing his ongoing connection to the club.

Messi also praised the work of Hansi Flick, who has led Barcelona to a six-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner described Flick’s squad as “spectacular” and emphasized the importance of giving young talent the opportunity to play and develop. He noted that when young players are given confidence, they can thrive within the team’s established system, a sentiment he linked to the golden era he experienced alongside players like Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.

Messi’s comments reflect his enduring affection for Barcelona and his admiration for the club’s current direction under Flick’s leadership.
