Man Stabbed to Death by Sex Worker in Lagos, Police Launch Investigation

A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday at Jakande Housing Estate, Lekki, Lagos, when a 48-year-old man, identified simply as Okafor, was allegedly stabbed to death by a sex worker named Joy Kelvin. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., and the Lagos State Police Command has since arrested the suspect.

According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, the late Okafor had brought Kelvin to his home to spend the night. The crime was reported by the deceased’s friend, who arrived at Ilasan Police Division at around 7:00 a.m. and informed authorities of the stabbing.

Police detectives quickly responded to the scene, took photographs, and transported Okafor’s body to General Hospital, Marina, where he was pronounced dead. The body has since been moved to the morgue at General Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.

Hundeyin confirmed that Kelvin had been apprehended and that the police are working to locate Okafor’s family. The investigation is ongoing.
