Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is edging closer to a summer transfer as Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have both reached an agreement with Napoli to trigger his €75 million release clause, according to reports.
Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu revealed that the two European giants have submitted verbal offers for the Super Eagles forward, with discussions on salary and contract terms ongoing.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has justified his €100 million market valuation with 19 goals in 24 appearances this season. His impressive form has made him the most valuable player to ever feature in the Turkish Super Lig, surpassing stars like Nicolò Zaniolo, Mauro Icardi, and Wilfried Zaha.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has identified the 25-year-old as his primary target to solve the club’s striking issues, with both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to adapt to the Premier League’s demands. While United’s football department is exploring player-exchange options, Napoli remains firm on a straight cash deal.
PSG, meanwhile, sees Osimhen as an ideal replacement for Randal Kolo Muani, who was loaned to Juventus. Despite their Ligue 1 dominance, the French giants want a natural striker to bolster their attack.
Last January, Galatasaray attempted to secure a permanent transfer with a €65 million bid, but Napoli rejected the offer, insisting on activating the release clause this summer.
Osimhen’s decision will be crucial for his career trajectory, with PSG offering Champions League football and domestic success, while United presents the challenge of leading a major club’s resurgence.
For now, the Nigerian remains focused on helping Galatasaray maintain their strong form in the Super Lig and Europa League, but a big summer move looks inevitable.
