Over ten thousand residents of Onitsha North Local Government Area defied the sit-at-home order to declare their strong support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election bid.
Governor Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, were received by an enthusiastic crowd that expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and vision for Anambra State. The large turnout signaled increasing grassroots support for the governor as political activities gain momentum ahead of the forthcoming election.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Soludo reflected on the progress made under his administration, emphasizing that such a massive assembly would have been unimaginable in Onitsha just a few years ago. He thanked the residents for their continued support and credited them for contributing to the state’s ongoing development.
The governor highlighted key achievements of his administration, including extensive road construction and the rehabilitation of public water schemes, reaffirming his commitment to infrastructure and social development.
Soludo also reiterated his administration’s dedication to ensuring credible elections, pledging to work closely with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to promote transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
During the event, which featured the presentation of over thirty million naira as campaign support for the governor, local leaders including the Chairman of Onitsha North LGA, Mr. Tony Nworah; Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba; and Member representing Onitsha North Constituency, Barrister Ifeoma Azikiwe, commended Soludo’s achievements. They described him as “the solution that works,” acknowledging his developmental impact across the area.
