The dispute between May Yul-Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, and her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has deepened after Ugwuonye shared alleged private conversations from their legal engagements on social media.
On Friday, Ugwuonye posted screenshots of chats with May on Facebook, claiming he had provided her with guidance and preferential treatment during her divorce case. He accused her of betrayal, dishonesty and manipulation, describing her as a “liar” and a “fake person.”
The lawyer warned that he could release more damaging evidence, writing: “If you see the chats between us, you will understand how fake May is and what a terrible liar she is. All those who believe her are just pitiable. I gave this woman first class treatment. I would send her the Cause List and guide her so she would not wait long before her case would be called.”
The development comes shortly after May, through her legal representatives Graylaw Partners, served a cease-and-desist notice to Ugwuonye. She accused him of cyberbullying, defamation and cyberstalking through what her team described as malicious online posts directed at her.
