In a remarkable display of commitment to environmental cleanliness and sustainability, The Commissioner for Environment, Anambra State, Engr. Dr. Felix C.Odimegwu, alongside the Managing Director of Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Hon Mike Ozoemena, Commissioner for Culture Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, The Mayor of Awka South, Prince Chinedu Okafor joined Associations of 046 Comedians and Mc’s today as they kicked off their keep Anambra clean project in the capital city of Awka.
The comedians demonstrated their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Anambra State.
Dr. Odimegwu emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in keeping the environment clean, while Mr. Ozoemena highlighted ASWAMA’s efforts in providing effective waste management services.
Again, Dr Odimegwu stressed that the Soludo-led government was ever ready to support any initiative that will not only promote a clean, green, and sustainable Anambra but also protect and preserve them for future generations. He noted that the Anambra State comedians voice and actions during the sanitation process was worthy of emulation
The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji and the Mayor of Awka South, Prince Chinedu Okafor, praised the initiative, noting that a clean environment was essential for promoting tourism and cultural development.
On his part, the President of the Anambra Comedians and MCs Association, Mr. Wisdom Udemba, popularly known as MC Zanzino,, stressed that transforming Anambra into a clean, green, and healthy mega city requires collective effort, adding that human activities are closely tied to the environment.
Other of their members that attended the exercise include, the Vice President, Mr. Pascal Nadi, known as Doctor Mmilioma, and the Awka Coordinator, Mr. Valentine Obinwanne, Onyeobodo among others.
