The Ministry of Works has earmarked N2 billion for the purchase of official vehicles for Senior Special Advisers (SSAs) in its proposed 2025 fiscal year budget, currently under review by the National Assembly.
This allocation is part of a broader sum of N2.475 billion designated for the “Purchase of Motor Vehicles” under the ministry’s budget sub-head. Additionally, N120 million has been proposed for the “Provision of Operational/Safety Vehicles.”
The budget proposal was submitted as part of President Bola Tinubu’s 2025 fiscal plan, titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” presented to legislators in Abuja last week.
Beyond vehicle procurement, the ministry also plans to spend N42.67 million on a “Visibility Programme/Media on Federal Government Roads Construction” to highlight ongoing infrastructure projects.
An additional N10 million is allocated under the Economic Recovery Growth Programme (ERGP) for the rehabilitation of boreholes and water tanks at the ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja.
The proposed allocations have sparked discussions among stakeholders as the National Assembly scrutinizes the budget to align with the government’s priorities for the coming year.
