Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, Denies Identity Theft Allegations Amid Ongoing Legal Case

Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has responded to allegations of identity theft raised by South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs. The 23-year-old beauty queen addressed the matter during an interview on Arise News, stating that she had not stolen anyone’s identity and is awaiting the conclusion of the legal case.

Chidimma, born in Soweto to a Nigerian father of Igbo descent and a Mozambican mother who is now a naturalized South African citizen, faced criticism after being announced as a Miss South Africa contestant. The allegations revolve around her mother, with preliminary evidence suggesting her involvement in fraud and identity theft.

Chidimma exited the Miss South Africa pageant but later joined the Miss Universe Nigeria competition. In the interview, she emphasized that she was not fleeing from the accusations but rather pursuing her dream. However, she refrained from going into further details, as the case is still under investigation.

She concluded by affirming her innocence, noting that she was being cautious to avoid contradictions until the matter is fully resolved.
