Mrs. Nonye Soludo Wins NUJ Award for Most Supportive Governor’s Wife in South-East Nigeria

Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has been named the Most Supportive Governor’s Wife in South-East Nigeria. The prestigious title was awarded following an open digital ballot organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.

The competition, which saw participation from the five South-Eastern states, allowed voters to select their preferred candidates based on verifiable achievements. Mrs. Soludo secured an overwhelming majority of votes, with many commending her contributions to promoting healthy living, social welfare, grassroots development, and agricultural initiatives.

Through her “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative,” the governor’s wife has made significant strides in uplifting communities across the region. Voters praised her hands-on approach and humanitarian efforts, which have left a lasting impact.

Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, the Chairman of the NUJ in Anambra State, described the award as a way to honor First Ladies who demonstrate remarkable support for societal growth outside the shadow of their husbands’ governance.

In addition to the recognition as the Most Supportive Governor’s Wife, Mrs. Soludo was also honored with the title of “NUJ Anambra Voice for the Voiceless in South-East” for her leadership in social welfare and advocacy for family values.

The awards will be presented to Mrs. Soludo at an official ceremony in October.
