Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, has urged eligible residents of the state to participate in the ongoing National Unity Fabric and Every Home a Garden competitions, spearheaded by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Addressing the public in Awka, Mrs. Soludo emphasized that these competitions present prime opportunities for young creatives and ambitious entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and elevate their careers. Both initiatives are part of Senator Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), aimed at empowering young Nigerians and women to excel in their respective fields.

The National Unity Fabric competition targets individuals aged 15 to 25, challenging them to design a unique indigenous fabric that celebrates Nigeria’s rich diversity and unity. The winner stands to receive a prize of 25 million naira, with the announcement scheduled for October 1, 2024. Submissions for the competition close on June 30, 2024, and interested participants can apply via email at unityfabric.ofl24@statehouse.gov.ng.

Conversely, the “Every Home a Garden” competition is tailored for female farmers across Nigeria. Participants must cultivate gardens in their homes capable of providing sustenance for their families. Open exclusively to first-time female farmers from all 36 states and the FCT, the competition requires candidates to submit a thirty-second video and a photo of their garden’s location to the office of their respective state’s first lady. The prize purse for this competition totals 20 million naira, with the winner set to be announced in December 2024.

Promoting the competitions on her verified social media platforms, Mrs. Soludo urged eligible individuals in Anambra State to register promptly and adhere to all application guidelines. She expressed confidence in Anambra’s entrepreneurial prowess, tipping contestants from the state to excel in both competitions and shine on both national and global platforms.

Mrs. Soludo commended Nigeria’s First Lady for spearheading initiatives geared towards sustainable human development, expressing optimism about the lasting impact these programs will have on the nation’s future.
