The 2024 Nanka Teens and Women Summit has concluded with a strong message to young people to embrace determination, hard work, and moral uprightness to secure their future.
The event, held at Umudala Village Hall in Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area, was convened by Chief Emeka Uganeme, a prominent son of the community.
Speaking at the summit, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, the Member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, urged youths to prioritize good character, respect, and skill acquisition to navigate Nigeria’s challenging economic climate.
Chief Uganeme, who also chairs Umudala Village, emphasized the need for collective efforts to instill good morals in young people, attributing societal moral decline to inadequate child upbringing.
Another notable figure, Chief Ebele Nwosu, a philanthropist and illustrious son of Nanka, provided scholarships and financial support to some participants. He encouraged young people to reject shortcuts to success, stressing that hard work and determination are key to achieving their goals.
Themed *”Bridging the Gap: Strengthening Mother-Teen Relationships,”* the summit featured expert presentations on topics such as good morals, self-discovery, personal ideology, and wellness. These sessions were led by notable speakers, including Dr. Emma Ezeokafor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and entrepreneur Chidiebere Mmaduafor.
The event aimed to equip teenagers and women with the tools to build a better society through character and skill development.
