Anambra natives in Abuja gathered in large numbers today to welcome Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who addressed the crowd not just as a leader but as a son returning to his people.
The town hall meeting, aimed at presenting a report of his three years in office, felt more like a family gathering than a political event. The governor’s words were often met with cheers and shouts of encouragement, showcasing the warmth and connection he shares with the audience.
For many attendees, the occasion was not just about hearing the governor’s speech but also learning about the tangible changes made in their lives. These include improvements in road infrastructure, the restoration of peace in once-troubled areas, job creation, and strides in digital transformation, among other accomplishments.
As Soludo recounted his journey over the past three years, the atmosphere was filled with a sense of pride and eager anticipation.
The Governor explained that his involvement in governance is deeply personal, driven by his desire to create a livable and thriving homeland for the people of Anambra. He shared that since 2006, he has envisioned transforming Anambra from a state people pass through to a destination people want to stay in.
He also emphasized the need for collective effort, warning that Anambra’s population could reach 48 to 50 million in the next 50 years, making development a crucial priority.
