Nigeria will face Senegal, Sudan, and the Republic of Congo in Group D of the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN), which has been rescheduled to August 2025. The tournament will still be jointly hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
The group-stage draw took place on Wednesday evening at the iconic Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi. Joint-hosts Kenya lead Group A, which includes Morocco, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia. Kenya will face 2018 CHAN winners Morocco in the tournament’s opening match.
Tanzania, as another host nation, heads Group B, where they will compete against Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, the team that eliminated Cameroon. Group B teams will battle for two spots in the knockout rounds.
Uganda, the third co-host, leads Group C alongside Niger Republic, Guinea, and two wild card entrants, who will be confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The 2025 CHAN promises thrilling football action as teams from across Africa vie for supremacy in this prestigious tournament.
