Nigerian veteran music legend, Onyeka Onwenu, popularly known as the “Elegant Stallion,” has been laid to rest in Lagos State. The funeral service for the multi-talented singer, songwriter, actor, journalist, activist, and politician was held at the Fountain of Life Church in the Ilupeju area of Lagos.
Following the church service, a private burial took place at a vault in Ikoyi.
Onwenu passed away on July 30 at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, shortly after performing at the birthday celebration of Dr. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Among the notable attendees at the funeral service was former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
