Nigerian Red Cross Society Recognizes Mrs. Nonye Soludo for Humanitarian Contributions

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Anambra State Branch, bestowed a prestigious humanitarian service and human development award upon Mrs. Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra governor and founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo movement. The award ceremony, held during the 2024 World Red Cross Day celebration in Awka, marked a significant recognition of Mrs. Soludo’s impactful efforts in promoting healthy living and social development within the state.

According to the Nigerian Red Cross Society, the award acknowledges the remarkable influence of Mrs. Soludo’s healthy living campaign on fostering positive lifestyle changes among the people of Anambra State, thereby contributing to improved health outcomes across the region.

In his presentation of the award, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, the National President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, praised the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative for championing key humanitarian policies and advancing social services, health, and education support initiatives. He commended Mrs. Soludo’s unwavering dedication to the vision of the Red Cross and her selfless service to humanity.

Professor Ifeyinwa Emelie, Chairman of the Anambra State Chapter of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, lauded the strong collaboration between the organization and the state government, emphasizing their shared commitment to enhancing the welfare of the people. She pledged continued support from the Red Cross to assist the government in achieving its objectives, particularly those aimed at directly benefiting the populace.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Mrs. Nonye Soludo commended the Nigerian Red Cross Society for acknowledging the impactful work of her NGO and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting healthy living initiatives. She emphasized that the award serves as motivation to further propagate the message of healthy living to broader audiences.

Represented by Dr. Afam Obidike, the Healthy Living State Coordinator and Commissioner for Health, Mrs. Soludo reiterated the initiative’s core values of compassion and humanity. She pledged to deepen collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross Society and expand outreach efforts, particularly targeting school children in Anambra State.
