Nigeria’s D’Tigress Defeated by Serbia in Pre-Olympic Friendly

In a pre-Olympic friendly on Sunday, Nigeria’s D’Tigress suffered a 70-62 defeat to Serbia. The match, held as part of their preparation for the upcoming Paris Olympics, saw the Nigerian team struggle to keep pace with their European opponents.

Under the guidance of coach Rena Wakama, D’Tigress trailed behind by 6 points in the first quarter, ending it at 21-15. Serbia extended their lead in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 10-point advantage, 39-29. The third quarter saw no change in the margin as Serbia continued to dominate, finishing at 55-45. Despite efforts from the Nigerian side, Serbia maintained their lead in the fourth quarter, sealing the game at 70-62.

D’Tigress will next face Japan in their final friendly match in Lille on Wednesday. As they look ahead to the Paris Olympics, Nigeria is set to compete against formidable teams including Australia, France, and Japan.
