Residents of Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area benefitted from a free medical outreach organized by the Nissi Helps Foundation, catering to people of all ages and backgrounds within the community.
The event, held at Adazi-Nnukwu Town Hall, was spearheaded by the foundation’s Chairman, Pastor Chudi Muoka, who highlighted the organization’s mission to provide quality healthcare to the less privileged. He emphasized the importance of health as a cornerstone of human productivity and the need to support those who cannot afford medical care.
Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, commended the foundation for aligning with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) initiative. He expressed satisfaction that the outreach was led by qualified health professionals.
The Executive Vice Chairman of the foundation, Agatha Ijeoma-Muoka, revealed that the outreach is an annual initiative aimed at raising health awareness. She noted the provision of 500 free eyeglasses, free medications, and five prostate surgeries performed by local and international doctors as highlights of the event. The outreach, she added, has been extended to other towns and communities.
The Regent of Adazi-Nnukwu, Chief Emma Kalu-Ugwumba, praised the foundation for its impactful work and expressed hope for future collaborations.
Mrs. Mitchell Onugbolu, President of the Adazi-Nnukwu Town Development Union Women’s Wing, was also in attendance to support the initiative.
