Nkiru Okoma Foundation Launches School Competition, Awards Cash Prizes to Winners

The Nkiru Okoma Foundation has inaugurated its first-ever competition for secondary schools in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, highlighting a significant step in promoting education and skills empowerment.

Held at Obosi Town Hall, the event featured a spelling bee, quiz, and talent hunt for junior and senior secondary school students. Participating schools included Awada Secondary School, Union Secondary School, Maranatha and Unique Secondary School, Choice De Immaculate Secondary School, and All Saints Secondary School.

Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, Chairman of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), addressed the students, emphasizing that the competition encourages learning, rewards hard work, and fosters healthy competition. She noted that the event aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of equipping every Anambra child with at least one skill, and praised the students’ performances.

In interviews with ABS, school directors Evangelist Leo Ewuzie, Mr. Chukwuma Ochokwu, and facilitator Comrade Onyeka Uzowulu commended the foundation for giving students a platform to showcase their skills and creativity beyond the classroom. They urged schools and students to embrace competitions, which prepare them for the larger society and inspire academic and personal excellence.

Reverend Ifeanyi Chukwuma, the event convener, thanked schools and parents for their participation and congratulated the winners and all participants.
