Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has revealed that his role in Nigeria’s highest-grossing film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” was the most challenging of his career.
Arukwe, who portrays Chidoke, an Igbo businessman and money launderer in the film, shared that the difficulty stemmed from mastering the Igbo dialect’s specific pronunciation nuances, particularly the enunciation of ‘R’s’ and ‘L’s’.
He made this disclosure during an interactive session with fans on the X platform. When asked about his most challenging role, Arukwe responded, “A Tribe Called Judah because I had to consciously replace the L word with the R word, to make it feel natural & believable.”
Funke Akindele, the producer of the record-breaking film, praised Arukwe’s performance. Quoting his tweet, she wrote, “And you nailed it. Well done bro. Thank you too.”
