The people of Nri Community in Anaocha Local Government Area have declared their support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election bid, citing his fulfillment of campaign promises to the area.
The endorsement came during a visit by the governor’s campaign team to the community. The delegation was led by Dr. Afam Obidike, Commissioner for Health and Chairman of the Anaocha Election Committee Council, alongside the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairman in the area, Chief Anthony Ugoji, and the party’s woman leader, Mrs. Ije Sunny-Egbuna.
Speaking at Ebede Square, Nri, the Chairman of Anaocha Council Area, Honourable Rome Ibekwe, praised Governor Soludo for constructing the long-neglected Agbanabo Road, describing it as a legacy project. He also noted other ongoing developments, including the Ezi na Ano road, as evidence of the governor’s commitment to the community.
Ibekwe cautioned residents against selling their voter cards or engaging in electoral malpractice, urging them instead to safeguard their votes during the upcoming election.
Community leader Barrister Chukwudi Oli encouraged residents to evaluate the developmental gains under Soludo’s administration compared to his opponents, asserting that Soludo’s leadership has brought tangible progress to Nri.
Other speakers, including Dr. Obidike, Sir Theophile Nnoli, Sir Ikeobi Ejiofor, and Chief Mrs. Ngozi Obikwelu, appealed to the people to remain steadfast in their support for the governor.
Representing the community, Chief Oggorchukwu Egolum, Chairman of Nze na Ozo Nri, and Mr. Benjamin Okafor lauded Soludo for swiftly approving the construction of the Agbanabo Road—an issue that had been ignored by previous administrations.
