The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi, has assured Nigerians of a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration as the corps deploys personnel nationwide.
A statement released on Saturday by NSCDC spokesperson Afolabi Babawale confirmed that officers across various zones, states, and formations have been mobilized to ensure security during the holiday period.
Addressing recent security concerns, Audi warned against acts of vandalism targeting critical national assets, particularly pipeline installations. He commended the collaborative efforts of the armed forces, the Department of State Services, the police, and the NSCDC in preventing a recent attack on oil facilities in the Allu-Rumuekpe area of Rivers State.
He emphasized that inter-agency cooperation remains essential in tackling crime and ensuring public safety.
