A former President General of Nteje Development Union, Chidiebele Obika has praised the member representing Oyi constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Innocent Ojike (Ojicam) for starting and completing the perimeter fence project at State Primary School, Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area.
Obika made this known earlier today during a chat with him over the project. Said he, ” I’m elated. I’m so happy. This project that Hon. Ojike did is dear to me. I recall when I was the PG of Nteje, people living around the school visited me and petitioned traders and drug users for messing the classrooms up.”
Specifically, Chief Obika informed that Chief Kenneth Akutebo approached him requesting him to do something about the school which led him and the former headmistress of the school, Mrs Anayo to visit the Commissioner for Education in the state to come to their aid.
However, nothing was done until Obika met with Hon. Ojike few weeks after he was sworn into office appealing to him to consider building the perimeter fence to which he told him then that he will consider it.
Furthermore, Obika recalled a meeting some select Nteje people had with Hon. Ojicam wherein he raised the issue of the school again urging the honourable house member to come to their aid to which he promised to commence the project with one month.
” Luckily for us, two weeks after that meeting, work began at the school. Later on, I visited the site and commended Hon. Ojike. Today, he has completed that project. God has used Ojicam to answer our prayers. Now, Eke Igwe market traders will no longer defecate inside the classrooms or bad boys using the school as bunk and what have you.”
He therefore thanked Ojicam for all he was doing for the people Nteje in particular and ndi Oyi since he assumed office last year.
