Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Felix Odimegwu has called on individuals and organizations to partner the state more on issues pertaining to the environment.
Dr Odimegwu made the call yesterday, October 25, 2024 when he received TECHNOSERVE facilitators for the USAID/COCA-COLA funded Nigeria Plastics Solution Activity where they inspected trucks and other equipment meant for the execution of all Anambra plastic challenge 2.0.
Dr Odimegwu said that Anambra state has been actively pursuing initiatives that would reduce waste, promote recycling and foster a culture of sustainability under the leadership of Governor Charles Soludo CFR.
He identified partnership as one of the several ways through which the state government is creating awareness on the importance of waste separation for recycling and generating economic prosperity through the circular economy.
Earlier in his address, the head of the delegation, Ronald Otteson commended efforts of the state government in providing the enabling environment for investors that will help people create meaningful and measurable improvement in their lives that will persist long after their work in the state had ended.
Technoserve is the country facilitator for the USAID/COCA-COLA funded Nigeria Plastic Solutions Activity. Only Anambra and Lagos States are included in this pilot project scheme as first phase beneficiaries.
Recall last year, that the All Anambra Communities Plastic Waste Recovery Challenge was successfully organised with many prices won by participants and this years challenge promises to be better and bigger.
