The Caretaker Chairman of Bakery International Market, Ogidi, Chief Chukwudi Ezeife, has lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his judicious management and utilization of taxpayers’ funds in Anambra State. He attributed the traders’ willingness to comply with tax payments to the visible impact of the governor’s developmental projects.
Chief Ezeife made these remarks during the 2024 End-of-Year Prayers held at Bakery Market, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area. He noted that traders in the market view tax payment as a civic duty, given the evident improvements in infrastructure, including newly constructed roads, rehabilitated bridges, and ongoing projects across the state.
“Soludo’s administration is the first time traders willingly pay 100 percent of their taxes without coercion,” Ezeife stated. “Even visitors to Anambra State can see the remarkable infrastructural development.”
The former President-General of the market, Chief Chudi Nwokediuko, also expressed satisfaction with the relocation of the market to its permanent site. According to him, the move has resolved challenges such as inadequate space, multiple taxation, and revenue disputes with indigenes.
“Today, many of our apprentices have their own business spaces and have even become landlords. The inconveniences we faced in Onitsha are now behind us,” Nwokediuko remarked.
The event also featured a sermon by the Guest Minister, Rev. Chinedu Agbakoba, who urged traders to put their faith in Jesus Christ for true success and peace. Speaking on the topic “Jesus in the Boat of Your Life,” he emphasized that divine guidance leads to lasting prosperity.
Market Evangelism Team and Prayers Coordinator, Bro. Cletus Anaebo, thanked God for another successful year. He encouraged traders to remain steadfast in prayer during the Christmas and New Year festivities and announced plans to continue the general prayers in 2025.
