Members of Ogidi Union Nigeria, Awka chapter comprising the men’s and women’s wings yesterday, Sunday, December 8, 2024 met at Emmaus House where they merrymade and thanked God for leading them all through 2024.
In his brief remarks at the occasion, the President of Ogidi Union Nigeria, Awka Branch, Mr Henry Nwasike informed that they gathered to celebrate and appreciate God for the outgoing year and pray to God to lead them into the succeeding year of 2025.
Nwasike stated that God had been faithful leading them in 2024 despite insecurities, difficulties, challenges and others bedeviling the country that God had been guiding and protecting them.
He prayed that many who would travel for the yuletide celebration will go in peace and come back in peace.
The president of Ogidi Women’s Nigeria, Awka branch, Associate Professor Uche Ekwugha stated that they were at the event to merry and thank God for leading them through the outgoing year of 2024.
Said she, “We are here to celebrate end of this year and about to enter the new year. For people who are here and others who couldn’t make it for one reason or the other, I pray God to guide and protect everyone this festive season so that we all shall celebrate again next year for our Thanksgiving.
In his comments, Prof. Ogochukwu Ibeneme
Prayed for the Igwe of Ogidi and the PG for good health and wisdom with which they would use in piloting the affairs of the community.
He observed that the event was a very interesting occasion where men and women from Ogidi town who reside in Awka came together to celebrate and prayed God to lead everyone safely this season.
On her part, Lady Nneka Oraka, Past President of women wing prayed to God blindfold kidnappers, unknown gunmen and others this festive season so that people will merry in the joyful season.
