The Ogun State Government has called on small business owners to participate in the ongoing verification and enumeration exercise across the state’s 20 local government areas. This exercise is essential for accessing the Federal Government’s nano grant.
Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, announced on Thursday that the exercise, which began on Monday, will conclude on Friday.
Sofela highlighted that the Bank of Industry had sent text messages to those who registered earlier, addressing concerns that some stakeholders believed the process was a scam.
“Both the Federal Government and Ogun State Government remain unwavering in their decision to upgrade the status of small-scale business owners,” Sofela stated.
He urged prospective beneficiaries to visit the nearest local government secretariat with their Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN) for data capture.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olu Aikulola, remarked that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration is committed to leveraging every opportunity to improve the living standards of its citizens.
“The focus of the state government on both the industrial sector and small-scale businesses is second to none. It will continue to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” Aikulola added.
