The third edition of *Okpa Fiesta: Vibes and Raves* lit up the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) Complex in Awka with an electrifying mix of culture, entertainment, and social connection. The event celebrated Igbo heritage, offering a unique platform for showcasing tradition, creativity, and talent.
Attendees were treated to an engaging lineup of games and activities, including storytelling, chess, scrabble, Jenga, darts, ludo, and traditional games such as *ncho*. Other highlights included pap-making, football, and art displays, all designed to emphasize the cultural and historical significance of *Okpa*—a cherished Igbo delicacy made from Bambara nut flour.
Miss Lucia Enahoro, the convener of the fiesta, described *Okpa* as an iconic Igbo dish with deep cultural roots. She emphasized that *Okpa Fiesta* is more than a food festival—it is a vibrant celebration of Igbo identity, blending traditional and modern expressions of art, music, and entrepreneurship. She thanked the event’s sponsors, vendors, performers, and the Managing Director of ABS, Mr. Chris Molokwu, for their support, urging Ndi Anambra to continue uplifting Igbo culture beyond the festival.
Renowned cultural advocate Otika Oja, Mr. Anslem Chimezie, highlighted the event’s role in promoting unity and preserving Igbo heritage, while ABS’s Miss Chidimma Ikeanyionwu praised the symbolic value of *Okpa*, calling it a dish that bridges socio-economic divides.
The fiesta successfully showcased the beauty of Igbo culture, inspiring attendees to reconnect with their roots and champion the preservation of their traditions for future generations.
