Onitsha South Council Boss To Turn The Recovered River Bank Area To Entertainment Center

The Onitsha South Local Government Chairman Chief Emeka Orji said that the recent recovered River Bank of River Niger at Niger Street Fegge would be turn to an entertainment center and will also attract more infrastructural development in the council area.

Orji said this at the Local government Secretariat during a welcome reception organized by the Onitsha South Stakeholders, political parties, friends and well wishers to thank God for the Chairman journey mercy on a trip to the United Kingdom back to Nigeria.

This was after the massive unalloyed endorsement from the people of Onitsha South which made Governor Soludo to reappoint him, and the reception was they took him unawares was also to appreciate the gift of a good leader who has impacted so much to the development of the area.

According to Orji, “We have a pet project that has kicked off, which after completion will attract tourists, thereby boosting the revenue of the local government and the state too and will also be a place of relaxation for our people, to have fun, enjoy, which gives longitivity”. He said.

He was overwhelmed by the love he received and appreciated their heartfelt expression and thanked God for his journey mercy and also appreciated our loving Governor for his special love for Onitsha South and Ndi Anambra.

He further seek for their total support and encouragement, saying that the construction of Nkrumah Street by police station will soon kick off.

He also used the opportunity to invite all to come and receive our amiable Mr Solution Governor, Prof Soludo to Onitsha South, for the flag off this year’s tree planting season. On Saturday 20th July at Godwin Achebe Stadium by 10 am.

Earlier in his speech, the Special Assistant, SA to the Council Chairman on political matters Hon. Chiadikobi Dunu said that the reception organized by the stakeholders for Mr Chairman as he resumes work today was to appreciate the chairman for the works he has done so far in the area and to spur him to do more, And to thank God also for the journey mercy he granted the chairman.

The caretaker chairman of the Fegge Landlords Association Chief Okwudili Obinwanne commended Hon. Orji, saying that he is a good man and a leader who deserves all the special kind gestures from the good people of the council area, to appreciate him for the both human capital development and infrastructural network that scattered across the local government which he (Hon Orji) attracted.Our Chairman is a good man, and I pray that we have his kind of humility and concern for others,” Obinwanne stated.
Hon.Afam Udogaranya, President General,PG, Fegge Housing Estate Community lauded the Chairman for doing what the people of the area have not seen especially the clearing of the sakamori, removing of shanties in Fegge housing without looking at faces and other remarkable things.
The event was graced by top government functionaries, political and Community leaders including: Dr. Alex Obiogbolu Special Adviser(SPAD) to the Governor on political matters; Onitsha South APGA Chairman, Mr Uche Umeh, and APGA deputy chairman Onitsha South; Dr Noel Udeoji Sec Fegge Landlords Association, APGA ward Chairmen, Deputies, Secretaries, Woman Leaders, Youth Leaders and host of other dignitaries.
