Onyinyeomachukwu Empowerment Foundation Distributes Food and Cash to 500 Vulnerable Residents in Aguleri

In celebration of the “Olili Obibia Eri” festival, Ambassador Onyinye Uwaechia, through her organization, the Onyinyeomachukwu Empowerment Foundation, has distributed food items and cash to over 500 vulnerable individuals in Aguleri, located in the Anambra East Council Area.

Ambassador Uwaechia, who recently received a chieftaincy title from the traditional ruler of Enugwu Aguleri, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri, offered this support as a gesture of gratitude for the honor and to alleviate the ongoing economic hardship faced by the community. The food distribution included essential staples such as tubers of yam, rice, and garri.

Welcoming Ambassador Uwaechia and her team at the Ancient Obu-Gad in Enugwu Aguleri, Eze Eri praised her philanthropic efforts and commitment to promoting Igbo cultural identity. He emphasized that her chieftaincy title was a recognition of her dedication to the welfare of the community and a way to encourage further contributions. He urged other Igbo women to adopt Uwaechia’s spirit of “onye aghana nwanne ya”—meaning “no one should leave their sibling behind.”

In her address, Ambassador Uwaechia expressed that her life’s mission aligns with her name, “Onyinyechukwu” (God’s gift), and encouraged affluent individuals to help uplift the less fortunate, emphasizing that investing in others has enduring rewards. She thanked Eze Eri for the honor and pledged continued efforts to support those in need.

Chief Ugezu Jideofor Ugezu, Chairman of the Idu Eri Cabinet, echoed the sentiments, highlighting that compassion for the vulnerable is a core value of Igbo culture. He advocated for the preservation of these communal values, which he noted are essential to societal harmony.

Several beneficiaries, including Josephine Nweze and Agnes Chukwudi, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the timely intervention. They commended Ambassador Uwaechia for her empathy and support during these challenging times.
