The Orumba North Local Government Area has held its 2025 Peace and Security Summit, bringing together political leaders, security agencies, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders to chart a course for enhanced safety in the region.
Addressing participants, the Mayor of Orumba North LGA, Captain Casmir Nwafor (Rtd), called on all stakeholders, including religious and affluent citizens, to collaborate with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in combating insecurity. He emphasized the importance of identifying and addressing miscreants while working closely with security agencies to protect lives and property.
Captain Nwafor announced plans to expand the local vigilante network and install CCTV observation posts across the council area to boost security efforts. He also pledged investments in agriculture, education, sports, and youth and women empowerment, noting that these initiatives would enhance security and foster sustainable development in the area.
Delivering the keynote address on “Community Policing: A Typical Military Barracks Community,” Brigadier-General Arinze Ebenebe (Rtd) highlighted the importance of community policing in maintaining law and order. He encouraged grassroots involvement to safeguard lives and property.
Also speaking at the summit, the Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Prince Ken Emeakayi, commended the Governor’s efforts in improving state security since assuming office.
The event witnessed active participation from Orumba North stakeholders, who reaffirmed their commitment to fostering peace and security in the region.
