The race for the Chairmanship position in Oyi Local Government remains undecided after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the APGA office in Nteje. Despite the inconclusive nature of the meeting, Honourable Innocent Ojike, representing Oyi Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, expressed confidence in APGA’s victory in the upcoming local government elections. He cited the development achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the area as a strong foundation for the party’s success.
Speaking after the meeting, Honourable Ojike urged his constituents to continue supporting the Governor in the forthcoming election, emphasizing that such support would enable Soludo to further actualize his vision for the people of Anambra.
Honourable Obi Ezeani, a prominent APGA stakeholder in Oyi and former President General of Umunya Development Union, echoed Ojike’s optimism. He noted that Oyi has consistently been a stronghold for APGA, attributing this to the effective representation provided by leaders like Ojike.
Adding to the discussions, Ichie Benneth Chinweze, the Traditional Prime Minister of Nteje community, emphasized that the meeting would eventually lead to the selection of a candidate capable of advancing the Governor’s development agenda at the local level.
Mrs. Juliana Ibefuna, the Oyi Local Government APGA Woman Leader, commended the peaceful conduct of the meeting and encouraged the community to maintain their support for APGA to ensure continued delivery of democratic benefits.
The stakeholders are expected to reconvene at a later date to finalize their choice for the Chairmanship candidate.
