The Ozo Awka Society has commended Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for his administration’s remarkable progress in infrastructure development, particularly in Awka, the state capital.
Speaking at a press conference held at the residence of the society’s president, Ozo MNC Nwofor, the group, through an address read by its Secretary-General, Ozo Ndubisi Nwakalo, praised the Governor for several completed and ongoing projects. These include the construction of the *Umuogbu-Agulu Awka erosion control project*, multiple internal roads, the upgrade of *Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital*, and the ongoing construction of the *Anambra State Government House and Governor’s Lodge in Awka*.
Other key projects highlighted by the society include the ongoing construction of a flyover connecting Ifite-Awka and *Amudo* across the *Enugu-Onitsha Expressway*, the revitalization of the long-abandoned *Awka Shopping Mall* at the former Ikenga Hotel site, and the development of the *Solution Fun City*. The group expressed optimism that these projects would be completed soon to further enhance the city’s growth.
While offering prayers for the continued success of Governor Soludo’s administration and the maintenance of peace and security in the state, the Ozo Awka Society also voiced concerns over the prolonged absence of a centrally elected Town Union Executive in Awka. They appealed to the Governor to ensure the conduct of a free and fair Town Union election, restoring proper leadership to the community.
