Excitement filled the air at Tansian University, Oba Campus, as former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, visited the institution to support teaching and learning.
Upon arrival, Mr. Obi received a warm welcome from students who displayed placards with messages such as “Education Friendly Governor” and “God Bless Your Initiative for Investing in the Future of the Youths.”
Announcing a donation of ₦10 million to enhance the learning environment for nursing students, Mr. Obi emphasized the importance of investing in education, particularly in science and healthcare. He highlighted that supporting youth education is key to lifting them out of poverty and stressed the critical role of nursing students in building a healthier society.
The Vice Chancellor of Tansian University, Umunya, Professor Eugene Nwadialor, praised Mr. Obi’s commitment to education and described the visit as a testament to their strong relationship. He noted that investing in education is an investment in the future of society.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Carter Dike-Nnamdi, and the Head of the Nursing Science Department, Associate Professor Henrietta Okedo, echoed this sentiment, stating that supporting students is vital for a better society.
The President of the Student Union Government, Samuel Favour, expressed gratitude on behalf of the students, affirming Tansian University’s dedication to fostering excellence, innovation, and leadership, which Mr. Obi exemplifies through his achievements.
