Peter Obi’s Visits to Political Figures Driven by National Peace and Progress Agenda

The purpose behind the recent visits of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), to prominent political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki, and Sule Lamido has been clarified by Obi’s spokesperson, Dr. Yunusa Tanko.

Tanko revealed that Obi’s engagements were aligned with the former Anambra governor’s steadfast commitment to fostering peace and advancing the progress of the nation.

During his visit to Abuja on Monday, Obi held discussions with key political figures, including former Vice President and 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, as reported by DAILY POST.

Tanko stated in a press release, “At the center of discussion during each of these visits was the state of the nation and how to reduce the suffering of all Nigerians irrespective of class and location.”

He emphasized, “In particular, the desperate condition of the downtrodden in our midst was highlighted.”

Tanko underscored that the discussions also focused on the concerning situation in the Northern parts of the country, reflecting Obi’s dedication to addressing pressing national issues regardless of geographical boundaries.

Peter Obi’s proactive engagement with political leaders underscores his commitment to fostering unity, addressing socio-economic challenges, and promoting the well-being of all Nigerians.
