Peter Okoye Criticizes Twin Brother Paul in Emotional Open Letter Over P-Square Contributions

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has publicly criticized his twin brother Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, for repeatedly undermining his contributions to their former music group, P-Square. Peter shared an emotional open letter on his Instagram page, expressing his frustration over Paul’s continuous remarks that discredit his efforts in the group they both co-founded and propelled to fame.

In the letter, Peter emphasized that he has never been in competition with Paul or anyone else, but is hurt by Paul’s frequent claims that downplay his role in P-Square. He referenced recent interviews where Paul allegedly stated that he was responsible for writing and singing 99% of P-Square’s songs and dismissed the success of their track “EjeaJo,” which Peter wrote.

Peter listed several other popular songs like “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” “Personally,” “Roll It,” “Temptation,” and “Alingo,” questioning if these hits were also considered failures by Paul. He expressed disappointment that despite frequently praising Paul’s songwriting skills in interviews, Paul has not reciprocated the acknowledgment.

Peter further accused Paul of teaming up with their older brother Jude to marginalize him within the group, rather than working together to reclaim their top position in the music industry. He highlighted how Paul has taken credit for various roles within P-Square, including songwriter, composer, producer, and more, which Peter views as an attempt to diminish his contributions.

The letter sheds light on the ongoing tension between the brothers, who, despite their past success as P-Square, continue to face challenges in their personal and professional relationship.
