Pheelz Emphasizes Spirituality of Music, Rejects Get-Rich-Quick Notion

Nigerian singer and producer Philip Kayode, known as Pheelz, has clarified that music should not be viewed as a get-rich-quick scheme. He emphasized the spiritual essence of music, stating it serves a higher purpose beyond financial gain.

In a post on X, Pheelz articulated his perspective, declaring, “Music is not a grind. It is not a get rich quick scheme. It is not a hustle. Music is life. Music is feeling. Music is healing. Music is God.”

He further elaborated on the distinction between music and the music business, suggesting that the latter represents humanity’s attempt to commodify divine energy. He stated, “The music and the music business are two different frequencies to me. The Music Business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The Music itself is God.”

Pheelz’s comments come amid a trend where many emerging Afrobeats artists cite poverty as a key motivation for their careers, highlighting the complex relationship between artistic expression and economic challenges.
