To commemorate his 53rd birthday, Chief Azubike Ekweozor, through his Ide Global Movement, has generously covered the hospital bills of 17 patients at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), totaling 3.5 million naira.
Chief Ekweozor visited the male and female surgical wards and the Mother and Child Referral Centre at the hospital, where he personally distributed receipts to the beneficiaries. Additionally, he visited Divine Mercy Compassion Home in Amawbia, where he donated food and other items to further celebrate the occasion.
Ms. Louisa Ibekwe, Nurse in Charge of the surgical wards, praised the gesture as commendable and urged other NGOs to follow Ide Global Movement’s example in supporting vulnerable individuals.
Beneficiaries, including Mr. Ikenna Aniedo from Achalla, Mr. Chigozie Nwanebe from Amawbia, Mrs. Nneka Ndubuisi from Awka, and Mrs. Mary Ọkpara from Umuawulu, expressed their gratitude and wished Chief Ekweozor a happy birthday, praying for his continued success.
At Divine Mercy Compassion Home, Amawbia, Matron Reverend Sister Chizorom Ugwu and the children extended their thanks and birthday wishes to Chief Ekweozor.
Chief Ekweozor, represented by Ide Global Movement Coordinator Mr. Casmir Obiegbolu, explained that the initiative also honored his first son, Prince Chimezie Azubuike Ekweozor, who shares the same birthday. The foundation remains dedicated to supporting less-privileged individuals, including unemployed youths, orphans, nursing mothers, children, widows, and the sick.
In a related ABS radio program, Chief Ekweozor endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term, praising the “Akuluo uno” philosophy and encouraging Ndi Anambra to support it to accelerate state development and address insecurity.
The birthday celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a special prayer led by the Traditional Ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, at his palace.
