Mrs. Olakunbi Adene, a well-known caterer and Chief Executive of Country Kitchen in Akure, Ondo State, was tragically hacked to death by unknown assailants five days after celebrating her 54th birthday.
Sources informed Vanguard that Adene was found dead at her residence on Oda Road in Akure. Neighbors discovered her lifeless body on her bed and subsequently alerted the caretaker of the property.
A family member revealed, “The mother of two was in good health just days before her untimely death. Her body was found in a pool of blood with no sign of her killers. She had recently celebrated her birthday, hosting many guests and serving drinks at her residence.”
The deceased’s husband, Dele Adene, expressed his shock, stating, “I was informed that my wife’s body was found in a pool of blood, indicating she was hacked to death. It’s disturbing that no arrests have been made so far. I believe suspects should have been apprehended by now, and her phone should be tracked.”
Her daughter, Tejumade, added that the caretaker of the house was the one who informed her of her mother’s death.
The remains of Mrs. Adene have been taken to the mortuary in Akure. State police spokesperson Funmi Odunlami confirmed the incident, stating, “I am aware of the killing and an investigation is currently underway.”
