In a tragic incident, a well-known crossdresser, popularly known as ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ was found dead on Thursday morning in the Banex, Wuse II area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The lifeless body was discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway.
Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the discovery and stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Police operatives who responded to a distress call from the area immediately transported the individual to Maitama District Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed the death.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the police have promised to provide updates as the investigation progresses. The full name and other personal details of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
