In an official announcement today, the Presidency has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu will be returning to Nigeria from his European trip on Wednesday. The disclosure was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, via a statement released on Tuesday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by his aides, is scheduled to arrive in Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” stated Onanuga.
President Tinubu embarked on his journey from Abuja on April 22, heading to the Kingdom of The Netherlands for an official visit. According to Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential Spokesperson, Tinubu’s visit to The Netherlands was at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Following his engagements in The Netherlands, Tinubu proceeded to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting held between April 28 and 29.
Although the President was anticipated to return to Nigeria after the WEF meeting in Saudi Arabia, his extended absence led to speculations regarding his whereabouts.
