Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its extravagant spending, which he claims is exacerbating Nigeria’s economic difficulties.
In a statement issued on Sunday through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele accused the government of undermining efforts to repair the economy with what he described as unnecessary expenditures.
“President Tinubu is further damaging Nigeria’s economy rather than addressing it,” Ayodele said. “The excessive spending does not benefit the country, especially at this challenging time.”
He expressed skepticism about the government’s awareness of the economic situation, questioning why officials would continue such spending practices.
“I remain doubtful that the economy will improve by 2025. The government must reduce costs, as its current spending is detrimental. Nigeria is in serious trouble, yet the government appears indifferent,” Ayodele added.
