Real Madrid Edges Past Alaves in Thrilling 3-2 Victory

Kylian Mbappe continued his scoring streak, netting for the fourth consecutive match as Real Madrid defeated Alaves 3-2 in La Liga on Tuesday. This win allows Madrid to close the gap on league leaders Barcelona to just one point before they face Getafe on Wednesday.

Real Madrid initially dominated the match, with Lucas Vazquez opening the scoring early on. He connected with a pass from Vinicius Junior just one minute into the game. Mbappe doubled the lead five minutes before halftime after a clever one-two with Jude Bellingham, finishing with precision for his fifth league goal of the season. Rodrygo extended the lead shortly after the break, firing a shot through the legs of Alaves goalkeeper Antonio Sivera.

Despite their commanding performance, Madrid faced a late scare when Alaves scored two quick goals within the final minutes. Carlos Protesoni found the net in the 85th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box, and moments later, Kike Garcia capitalized on a well-placed pass from Protesoni to make it 3-2.

Madrid managed to hold on for the win, marking their 39th consecutive league match unbeaten. The team will next prepare for a derby clash against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium, where they last faced defeat in La Liga exactly a year ago.

In other La Liga news, Sevilla’s Ejuke scored the match-winner in his debut, and Barcelona’s goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen suffered a serious injury during their victory over Villarreal.
