Rema Urges Nigerian Politicians to Focus on Sustainable Solutions for Hardship and Poor Governance

Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has called on Nigerian politicians to implement long-term solutions to address the country’s economic challenges and governance issues, rather than offering short-term relief measures.

In a recent interview on *The Breakfast Club*, Rema criticized the common practice of providing temporary aid, such as food handouts, without addressing the root causes of hardship. He urged leaders to create sustainable platforms that could consistently provide for the needs of the masses.

“It’s not about giving rice. Do you know if some kids have an allergy to rice? What about tomorrow? What are they going to eat tomorrow?” Rema questioned, advocating for more thoughtful and enduring solutions. “Create a platform that would consistently provide, educate, clothe, and shelter the hungry people.”

The singer also revealed that he has been offering policy advice to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, during their meetings, underscoring his interest in contributing to governance and policy development in Nigeria.
