Anambra businessman and philanthropist, Comrade Peter Nwosu has fulfilled the promises he made to the English department, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu university, Igbariam and a student of Mater Amabili Secondary school, Umuoji, by recently giving out cheques to them.
Nwosu gave cheque to Okolo Chizoba Samuel, a 200-level student of the Department of English, COOU Igbariam Campus, who played the role of Okonkwo in Achebe’s Things Fall Apart and 100k worth scholarship to Miss Onyeuma Claire, an SS2 student of Mater Amabilis Secondary School, Umuoji, for her recitation and memorable presentation during the Opuluiche Festival of Arts of the department.
He equally purchased 500 copies of *Ife-nkili: A Poetry collection in honor of the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha fnipr,* worth N500,000 to be distributed free of charge to all the students in the Department of English and beyond.
Presenting the cheques, Nwosu commended COOU management and the English Department HOD, Dr Ikechukwu Asika for keeping the Igbo culture alive through arts.
The scholarship award recipient, Master Okolo thanked Chief Nwosu for his magnanimity while praying God to continue blessing him and his family.
