Schoolgirl Cries Out For Help After Mother Allegedly Forces Her Into Prostitution

A 15-year-old schoolgirl, Emmanuella Monday, has raised the alarm about her mother’s alleged attempt to force her into child prostitution. Emmanuella, a student of Triumphant School, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, claims her mother has repeatedly offered her to men for sexual exploitation.

According to Emmanuella, her mother recently took her to a hotel in Udu Local Government Area to meet a man. She was left alone with the man after her mother left, and she managed to escape when the man went to take a bath.

The schoolgirl revealed that this was not the first time her mother had engaged in such activities. She added that her mother was always concerned about her getting married, implying that she was being pressured into prostitution for financial gain.

When contacted, Emmanuella’s mother, Mrs. Eunice Asulie, denied the allegations, claiming that her daughter had been missing for days. She said she had reported the matter to the police and was actively searching for her.

The school’s proprietress, Mrs. Magareth Oghuvwu, confirmed Emmanuella’s account and expressed deep concern for her safety. She said the school had reported the incident to the authorities and was seeking help from human rights organizations.

A human rights activist, Comrade Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho, has petitioned the Delta State office of the National Human Rights Commission, demanding justice for Emmanuella. The activist accused the mother of selling her daughter to a suspected sex trafficker.

The police have taken Emmanuella into protective custody while they investigate the allegations against her mother.
