Second Anambra Investment Summit Set to Boost Economic Prospects, Says ANSIPPA Chief Okoye

Anambra State is gearing up for the 2024 Anambra Investment Summit, set to take place on Thursday, November 14, at the International Convention Center in Awka. According to Mr. Mark Okoye, Managing Director of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), this year’s summit will provide new investment opportunities aimed at transforming Anambra into a thriving industrial and economic hub.

During a media briefing held in Awka, Mr. Okoye, accompanied by Commissioner for Information Dr. Law Mefor and Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Mr. Christian Udechukwu, emphasized that the summit aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to elevate Anambra’s economy through industrialization and strategic infrastructure. He stated that ANSIPPA has expanded beyond its traditional role in land and equity deals to support the Governor’s long-term economic plan, which includes improvements in infrastructure, reliable power, and a robust road network to attract investors.

Reflecting on the success of the first investment summit, Mr. Okoye highlighted that multiple projects awarded by Governor Soludo are already underway, with reputable investors actively participating. This year’s summit will feature progress reports on ongoing projects and additional contract signings with high-caliber investors. Financial institutions, including Afrexim Bank, the Bank of Industry, and SMEDAN, will also engage in the summit as investment partners.

Commissioner for Information Dr. Mefor noted Governor Soludo’s proven economic expertise, referencing his tenure as the Central Bank Governor, and expressed confidence that Soludo’s policies will drive economic growth in Anambra. He added that Anambra’s current security stability sets it apart in the region, encouraging investors to contribute to building the state through Governor Soludo’s Public Private Community Partnership initiative.

Commissioner Udechukwu, meanwhile, shared that Anambra is ranked the top state in Southern Nigeria for ease of doing business, and seventh nationwide. With its strong support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), he added, Anambra has helped many businesses expand from small to medium-scale operations. The upcoming summit, he emphasized, represents a prime opportunity to bring more investors into Anambra, propelling the state toward its economic goals.
